National Major Parasitic Disease Comprehensive Prevention and Control Working Conference and 2024 Annual National Parasitic Disease Surveillance, Prevention and Control Work Conference was successfully held in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province

From May 9 to 10, 2024, the National Administration of Disease Control and Prevention (NADCP) and the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) held the National Major Parasitic Disease Comprehensive Prevention and Control Promotion Meeting and the 2024 National Parasitic Disease Monitoring and Prevention Work conference in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. The conference deployed the implement the "National Comprehensive Prevention and Control Implementation Plan for Major Parasitic Diseases (2024–2030)," summarized the progress and achievements of national major parasitic disease surveillance, prevention and control, exchanged the latest research advancements and work experiences in the field of parasitic disease prevention, and would greatly promote the prevention and control work of major parasitic Diseases.

Academic Exchange Conference for China CDC Weekly Successfully Held in Guangzhou, Guangdong

On April 28, 2024, the Academic Exchange Conference for China CDC Weekly (Guangdong Station) was successfully held at the School of Public Health, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou. The conference was hosted by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and organized by Sun Yat-sen University. Shi Xiaoming, Deputy Director of China CDC, and Xia Min, Dean of the School of Public Health at Sun Yat-sen University, attended the conference and delivered speeches. Over 30 experts from CDCs and various universities in the field of public health participated in the conference.

National Institute of Parasitic Diseases Hosts 2024 Joint Malaria Day Campaign at the China-Myanmar Border Region

April 26, 2024, celebrated as the 17th National Malaria Day in China, was marked by significant activities commissioned by the Health and Immunization Department of the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration. The National Institute of Parasitic Diseases of China CDC, in conjunction with the Medical Parasitology Branch of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, Yunnan Provincial Disease Control and Prevention Administration, and Yunnan Institute of Parasitic Diseases, conducted a joint promotional campaign and training on border malaria in Ruili City, Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan Province, from April 25 to 26. The events extended to field research conducted in Yingjiang County along the China-Myanmar border.

National Disease Prevention and Control Comprehensive Management System Application Training Seminar Successfully Held

From April 17 to 19, 2024, the Information Center of the Chinese Center for Disease Prevention and Control (China CDC) organized a national training seminar in Shaoxing, Zhejiang. The seminar, focusing on the application of the National Disease Prevention and Control Comprehensive Management System, aimed to improve the quality of disease prevention and control information reporting nationwide. Participants included Song Ge, Second-level Principal Staff Member of the Regulation and Finance Department of the National CDC, Su Xuemei, Director of the Information Center, relevant staff from the laboratory and policy research departments, as well as information management personnel from CDCs across all provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.

Workshop Hosted by China CDC Weekly

On April 2, 2024, a workshop was held at Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, hosted by The China CDC Weekly, aimed at improving surveillance data dissemination and academic papers publication. The workshop was attended by leaders of the center's affiliated institutes and relevant departments. Director Shen Hongbing participated in the discussions, and Deputy Director Shi Xiaoming presided over the meeting.
