China-Mongolia Occupational Health Exchange, to Jointly Promote Public Health Development — The delegation from the Ministry of Health of Mongolia visited the National Institute for Occupational Health and Poison Control, China CDC
On the afternoon of January 9, 2025, Mr. Ochirbat Dagvadorj, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Mongolia, led a delegation comprising nine members to visit the National Institute for Occupational Health and Poison Control(NIOHP), China CDC. The purpose of the visit was to gain an in-depth understanding of China’s advanced practices and experiences in the field of occupational health, strengthen cooperation between China and Mongolia in the prevention of occupational diseases and poisoning control, and jointly enhance public health standards and promote the health and well-being of both nations' populations.
Dr. Sun Xin, the director of NIOHP, China CDC, provided an overview of China's occupational health management system, detailing the historical evolution, organizational structure, and functional divisions within the institute. He underscored the importance of occupational diseases and hazards monitoring, implementing preventive measures and controls for occupational diseases, responding to poisoning emergencies, identifying chemical toxicity, and ensuring quality control in physical and chemical laboratories. Ms.Yuan Yuan and Ms.YuYue presented and demonstrated the Poisoning Emergency Platform System for sudden poisoning events and the Occupational disease Surveillance System.
The representatives from both sides engaged in discussions regarding the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and compensation of occupational diseases. In-depth dialogues and experience sharing were conducted on topics such as occupational health monitoring and assessment, as well as the handling and reporting of poisoning incidents. Following the meeting, Dr. Li Haijiao presented an overview of the research status and progress related to toxic biological poisoning in China to the delegation. The delegation also visited the physical and chemical testing laboratory, where they exchanged insights on commonly utilized technical methods within the field of occupational health testing. Both parties concurred that it is essential to enhance efforts in formulating and implementing regulations for the prevention and control of occupational diseases while striving to elevate the standards of occupational health services.
Through this exchange,a solid foundation has been laid for future cooperation between the two countries.
