On April 20, 2025, the “2025 Integrated Science Communication Conference,” hosted by the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (CACA), opened in Beijing. With the theme “Science Communication First in Cancer Prevention and Control,” the conference brought together cancer prevention and control experts from across the country, including those from medical institutions, disease control systems, research institutes, and international organizations. Wang Jianwei, Director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech.

On April 19, 2025, ten members of the Public Health Emergency Team for Natural Disaster from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) joined the China Public Health Team to Myanmar and departed for the earthquake-stricken area of Mandalay, Myanmar, to carry out post-disaster public health and epidemic prevention efforts. Wang Jianwei, Director of China CDC, along with leaders from the National Institute for Communicable Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Institute of Environmental Health, as well as heads of the Office of General Administration, Office of International Cooperation, Office of Public Organizations, Center for Global Public Health, Public Health Emergency Center, Division of Infectious Diseases, and Center for Immunization Planning, were present at Beijing Capital International Airport to see the team off.

On April 2, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) held the 2025 Training Workshop on News and Public Communication at the multifunctional hall of its North Campus. The workshop was held to earnestly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important statements on publicity, ideological, and cultural work. It aligned closely with the Center’s 2025 initiative designated as the “Year of Capacity Building,” and focused on the missions and responsibilities of health communication in the new era. The training aimed to strengthen the political integrity, professional competence, and innovative thinking of the publicity team, with the goal of cultivating a capable force to effectively tell the China CDC story and amplify authoritative voices in disease control.

%6, %2025Advancing Tuberculosis Control and Strengthening Strategic Partnership — A Visit by Gates Foundation Experts to China CDC’s National Center for Tuberculosis Control and Prevention
To further advance the implementation of the National Administration of Disease Prevention and Control/Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention–Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Cooperation Project (hereinafter referred to as “the Project”) and to deliberate on the planning and execution strategies for future collaboration, a high-level experts delegation conducted a visit to the National Center for Tuberculosis Control and Prevention (NCTB) at the China CDC on April 1, 2025. The delegation comprised Dr. Peter Baron Piot, Senior Advisor to the Gates Foundation; Professor Heidi Jane Larson from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine; and Dr. Huan Shitong, Senior Program Officer at the Gates Foundation’s Beijing Representative Office.
