2025 China CDC-WHO Collaborating Centre Workshop Held in Beijing
On the morning of June 26, 2025, the Office of International Cooperation of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) convened the 2025 China CDC- WHO Collaborating Centres (WHOCCs) Workshop. Approximately 15 participants attended the meeting, including current heads of WHOCCs and representatives from relevant departments.

2025 Technical Training Workshop on National Food Nutrition Surveillance Held in Urumqi
The 2025 Technical Training Workshop on National Food Nutrition Surveillance was held from June 10 to 11, 2025, in Urumqi, Xinjiang. A total of 145 participants attended the training, including personnel from 33 monitoring sites across 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, as well as staff from CDCs in Weihai, Luohe, Ganzhou, Enshi, and other locations. Among them, 37 participants were from disease control agencies affiliated with the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and municipal and county-level CDCs.

And Yang Jingming(Associate Researcher)from the Working Group on National Food Nutrition Surveillance were invited to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps(XPCC CDC)to conduct a technical guidance visit.This visit further strengthened the technical collaboration between the national working group and the XPCC CDC, contributing professional expertise to support the high-quality development of public health in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.

On July 22, 2025, Prof. Wang Jianwei, Director General of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), met in Beijing with Prof. Vernon Lee, Chief Executive Officer of the Communicable Diseases Agency, Singapore (CDA Singapore). The two leaders co-chaired the 2025 Technical Roundtable Discussion between the two institutions, joined by more than 20 members of their respective technical teams.

Aug 15 , 2025Delegation from the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute Visits the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases
On July 12, a delegation from the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH), including Ms. Eva Herzog, Chair of the Governors Board; Professor Jürg Utzinger, Director of Swiss TPH and recipient of the 2021 Chinese Government Friendship Award; and Mr. Mathias Kronig, Head of Administration, visited the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases (NIPD), Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC). Also joining the visit were Dr. Robert Bergquist, recipient of the 2024 Chinese Government Friendship Award, and Dr. Hung Nguyen, along with otherprofessionals who had previously studied or worked at Swiss TPH. The meeting was hosted by Dr. Li Shizhu, Director General of NIPD and Chief Scientist in Parasitic Diseases, Dr. Zhou Xiaonong..

Aug 15 , 2025“ConvEx-3 (2025)” International Nuclear Emergency Communication Exercise Successfully Concluded
From June 24 to 25, 2025, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in collaboration with several international organizations, conducted the “ConvEx-3 (2025)” Level 3 Convention Exercise on Nuclear Emergency Response. In accordance with the requirements of the National Nuclear Emergency Office and the World Health Organization (WHO) Radiation Emergency Medical Preparedness and Assistance Network (REMPAN), the National Nuclear Emergency Medical Assistance Support Center (Nuclear Accident Medical Emergency Center of China CDC) participated in the exercise. Serving as both the national technical support unit for nuclear emergency response and WHO-REMPAN’s liaison institution in China, the Center promptly provided emergency responses on issues related to medical treatment and public health.

From July 9 to 11, 2025, the 2025 Provincial Influenza Reference Center Proficiency Testing and Technical Training Program was held in Chongqing, organized by the National Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention (IVDC), Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), and hosted by the Chongqing Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention. More than 50 technical staff from provincial (autonomous region and municipality) CDCs attended the training.

Jul 29 , 20252025 National Conference on Parasitic Disease Surveillance and Control Held in Haikou
From June 5 to 6, 2025, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) convened the 2025 National Conference on Parasitic Disease Surveillance and Control in Haikou, Hainan Province. The event brought together more than 120 participants, including officials and technical professionals from CDCs and parasitic disease control institutions across all provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. Also in attendance were leaders and experts from the Division of Infectious Disease Control and the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases of China CDC. Li Qun, Deputy Director of China CDC, and Zeng Zhaozhang, Director of the Hainan Provincial Bureau for Disease Control and Prevention, attended the meeting and delivered remarks.
