China CDC and CDA Singapore Launch Senior Expert Exchange Programme

In April 2025, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and the Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA), Singapore officially launched a Senior Expert Exchange Programme under the framework of the MoU of the two organizations signed in August 2024. The 2025 Journal Classification Table was officially released recently. Infectious Diseases of Poverty, affiliated with National Institute of Parasitic Diseases at China CDC (Chinese Center for Tropical Diseases Research), has been ranked in Top 5% (Quartile 1) under the broad category of Medicine Discipline (Top Journal), and in three subcategories—Disciplines of Infectious Diseases, Parasitology, and Tropical Medicine—making it a top-tier journal in the medical field.

Thai Ministry of Public Health Delegation Visits CFETP at China CDC

On the afternoon of February 12, 2025, a 12-member delegation from the Epidemiology Division of the Department of Disease Control, under Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health, led by Director Wichan Bhunyakitikorn, visited the Chinese Field Epidemiology Training Program (CFETP) at the Office of Education and Training of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC). The visit aimed to enhance exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in field epidemiology training.

Kick-off Meeting for the Group Standard Development Project on Specifications for Weight Management Center Construction Held in Beijing

On February 21, 2025, the National Center for Chronic and Noncommunicable Disease Control and Prevention (NCD Center) of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) convened the kick-off meeting for the group standard development project titled Specifications for Weight Management Center Construction in Beijing. The meeting aimed to advance the formulation of this group standard. Attendees included relevant officials from China CDC and the NCD Center, experts from drafting organizations such as Peking University Third Hospital and Beijing Friendship Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University, as well as representatives from related industries, with more than 40 participants in total.

The Office of Academic Publishing Holds Working Exchange Meeting on Academic Publishing

On February 26, 2025, the Office of Academic Publishing hosted a working exchange meeting on academic publishing at the Changping Campus, China CDC (here by called the Center). The meeting focused on journals organized and co-organized by the Center. Deputy Director Xiaoming Shi attended alongside editorial staff from all the editorial office. Deputy Director Qun Zhang of the Office of Academic Publishing chaired the meeting.

2025 National Conference on the Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS, STIs, and Viral Hepatitis Held in Nanjing, Jiangsu

The 2025 National Conference on the Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), and Viral Hepatitis was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, from February 20 to 21. The conference thoroughly implemented the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Second and Third Plenary Sessions of the 20th Central Committee. It reviewed progress in prevention and control efforts and outlined the key tasks for 2025. Xia Gang, Deputy Director of the National Administration of Disease Prevention and Control (NADPC), delivered a speech. Yan Jun, Deputy Director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), delivered opening remarks. The meeting was moderated by Lei Zhenglong, Director-General of the Department of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control of the NADPC, and concluded with a summary by Zhang Jun, Deputy Director-General of the department.
