2025 National Training on Research Integrity and Medical Ethics for the Disease Control System Successfully Held

From 17 to 18 September 2025, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) organized the “2025 National Training on Research Integrity and Medical Ethics for the Disease Control System” in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. Academician Xu Jianguo, Chair of the Ethics Committee of China CDC, Tian Wenjun, Deputy Director of the Shanxi Provincial Bureau of Disease Control, and Guo Guige, Deputy Director of the Shanxi Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, attended the training and delivered remarks. More than 100 staff members from provincial centers for disease control and prevention across the country took part in the course.

 

Academician Xu Jianguo and several other well known experts gave lectures and shared practical experience on topics such as X infectious disease prevention and control, research integrity, medical ethics and the translation of research findings, covering both policy interpretation and hands on practice. Participants systematically studied the latest national policies on research integrity and ethics, and carried out case analyses based on their own work. They also held in depth discussions on issues including the ethics of big data in public health, management of human genetic resources, publication ethics, ethics of artificial intelligence and research integrity. Centers for disease control and prevention from Tianjin, Sichuan, Anhui, Hainan, Fujian and Shanxi presented reports and exchanged experience.

 

The training provided guidance for strengthening research integrity and medical ethics across the national disease control system and laid a solid foundation for further reinforcing safeguards for research integrity and promoting high quality development of public health research.
