    “ConvEx-3 (2025)” International Nuclear Emergency Communication Exercise Successfully Concluded

    From June 24 to 25, 2025, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in collaboration with several international organizations, conducted the “ConvEx-3 (2025)” Level 3 Convention Exercise on Nuclear Emergency Response. In accordance with the requirements of the National Nuclear Emergency Office and the World Health Organization (WHO) Radiation Emergency Medical Preparedness and Assistance Network (REMPAN), the National Nuclear Emergency Medical Assistance Support Center (Nuclear Accident Medical Emergency Center of China CDC) participated in the exercise. Serving as both the national technical support unit for nuclear emergency response and WHO-REMPAN’s liaison institution in China, the Center promptly provided emergency responses on issues related to medical treatment and public health.

    Communicable Diseases Agency Singapore Delegation Holds Talks with China CDC’s CFETP on FETP Collaboration

    2025 Provincial Influenza Reference Center Proficiency Testing and Technical Training Held in Chongqing

    From July 9 to 11, 2025, the 2025 Provincial Influenza Reference Center Proficiency Testing and Technical Training Program was held in Chongqing, organized by the National Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention (IVDC), Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), and hosted by the Chongqing Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention. More than 50 technical staff from provincial (autonomous region and municipality) CDCs attended the training.

    2025 National Conference on Parasitic Disease Surveillance and Control Held in Haikou

    From June 5 to 6, 2025, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) convened the 2025 National Conference on Parasitic Disease Surveillance and Control in Haikou, Hainan Province. The event brought together more than 120 participants, including officials and technical professionals from CDCs and parasitic disease control institutions across all provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. Also in attendance were leaders and experts from the Division of Infectious Disease Control and the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases of China CDC. Li Qun, Deputy Director of China CDC, and Zeng Zhaozhang, Director of the Hainan Provincial Bureau for Disease Control and Prevention, attended the meeting and delivered remarks.

    China CDC Attends the First Meeting of the Conference of the BRICS National Public Health Institutes (NPHIs)

    On the evening of April 29, 2025 (Beijing time), the First Meeting of the Conference of the BRICS National Public Health Institutes (NPHIs) —one of the key events in the BRICS public health agenda for 2025—was held virtually. The meeting was hosted by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation of Brazil, the 2025 BRICS rotating presidency. Over 40 representatives from BRICS member and partner countries participated in the event. The experts from China CDC, the NPHI of China, attended the meeting and gave a report.

    China CDC (Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine) Holds Working Meeting on Curriculum Development for Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) Program

    On June 6, 2025, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), also known as the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine, convened a working meeting in Beijing to advance curriculum development for its Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) professional degree program. Shi Xiaoming, Deputy Director of China CDC and Executive Dean of the Graduate School, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. More than 20 participants took part in the meeting, including members of the DrPH Curriculum Development Coordination Group, heads and core members of disciplinary working groups, and representatives from the Graduate School. The meeting was chaired by Liao Kaiju, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training and Deputy Dean of the Graduate School.

    China CDC Holds 2025 Work Coordination Meeting for the Southern Xinjiang Workstation in Kashgar

    On May 26, 2025, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC, also known as the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine) held the 2025 Work Coordination Meeting for the Southern Xinjiang Workstation in Kashgar, Xinjiang. Attendees included representatives from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region CDC, the CDC of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, the Southern Xinjiang Workstation and its liaison points, as well as staff from relevant departments of China CDC (the Academy). Former heads of the Southern Xinjiang Workstation and public health experts from provinces and municipalities engaged in counterpart support to Xinjiang were also invited to attend and provide guidance.
