Deputy Director Li welcomed the delegation and noted that China and the United States have long carried out effective cooperation in the field of public health. Since its founding more than a century ago, APHA has played an important role in promoting public health policy development, building the discipline and sharing practical experience. He said that China CDC is ready to take this visit as an opportunity, and, working together with the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, to further deepen cooperation with the United States in areas of shared concern.

Dr Benjamin expressed his appreciation and said he looked forward to strengthening cooperation with China CDC. He hoped that Chinese public health experts would continue to play an active international role in academic exchange, policy advocacy and global health governance.

During the meeting, the two sides held detailed discussions on the response to public health emergencies, global health cooperation and future directions of collaboration.

Li Quanle, Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, Yi Heya, Director of the Department of External Relations, and other representatives accompanied the delegation during the visit.
