China CDC holds annual conference for Chinese Field Epidemiology Training Program
The 18th academic annual conference for Chinese Field Epidemiology Training Program (CFETP) was held from Aug 23 to 24 in Changsha, the capital city of Hunan province.
At the opening ceremony, Shen Hongbing, deputy director of the National Administration of Disease Prevention and Control and director general of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), who is also an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, distributed graduation certificates to the CFETP's graduates of 20th cohort.
Shen, together with Zeng Guang, CFETP's founder and honorary advisor, Liu Jianjun, chairman of Chinese Antituberculosis Association, and Feng Zijian, secretary-general of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association (CPMA), delivered keynote speeches successively on "Epidemiological Research in the Big Data Era", "CFETP's Establishment, Development and Advancement", "The Evolution of China's Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Strategies", and "What Can We Learn from the COVID-19 Pandemic".
A total of 454 abstracts during the call for abstracts of the annual conference were received of which 33 were accepted as oral presentations and 68 as poster presentations.
The event was co-organized by the China CDC and CPMA, and was supported by the Hunan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
