Delegation of Mongolia’s Ministry of Health Visits the National Institute for Radiological Protection of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention
On January 9, 2025, Mr. Ochirbat, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Mongolia, along with a nine-member delegation, visited the National Institute for Radiological Protection of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NIRP, China CDC). The delegation was accompanied by Ms. Wang Xiaoqi, Director of the International Cooperation Department of China CDC. Leaders and researchers from various departments of NIRP, including the Office of Medical response to Radiation Emergency, the Division of Radiation Protection, the Division of Radiobiology, the Division of the Radioepidemiology, and the Division of Radiochemistry, participated in the exchange meeting. The meeting was chaired by Director Liu Qingjie.
On behalf of NIRP, Director Liu extended his gratitude to Mr. Ochirbat and his delegation for their visit and provided a comprehensive introduction to the institute’s history, core functions, and ongoing work. Mr. Ochirbat introduced the purpose of their visit. Following this, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including the radiation protection system, organizational and management structures, responsibilities, standards, food safety, and medical emergency response mechanisms for nuclear accidents.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation visited the RadioBiology Laboratory, the Radio-epidemiology Laboratory, and the Radiation Monitoring and Evaluation Laboratory.
This visit has laid a solid foundation for further exchanges and cooperation between China and Mongolia in the field of radiation protection.
