National Disease Prevention and Control Comprehensive Management System Application Training Seminar Successfully Held

From April 17 to 19, 2024, the Information Center of the Chinese Center for Disease Prevention and Control (China CDC) organized a national training seminar in Shaoxing, Zhejiang. The seminar, focusing on the application of the National Disease Prevention and Control Comprehensive Management System, aimed to improve the quality of disease prevention and control information reporting nationwide. Participants included Song Ge, Second-level Principal Staff Member of the Regulation and Finance Department of the National CDC, Su Xuemei, Director of the Information Center, relevant staff from the laboratory and policy research departments, as well as information management personnel from CDCs across all provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
 
Jiang Zhen, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Zhejiang Provincial CDC, and Xu Laichao, Director of the Shaoxing CDC, welcomed attendees and presented on their experiences and achievements in managing comprehensive disease control information and developing informatization strategies. Director Su Xuemei acknowledged the dedicated efforts in information reporting across various regions over the years and highlighted the pivotal role of comprehensive management information in supporting policy research and performance evaluations at the national CDCs. Training sessions detailed system functionalities, report quality analysis, and critical considerations for laboratory information entries. These sessions focused on reporting requirements, data review principles, and solutions to common reporting issues, providing immediate assistance for challenges faced by the participants. Moreover, Qiu Wuqi from the Institute of Medical Information at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences delivered a special lecture on thein-depth analysis and exploration of comprehensive management information. The Hebei Provincial CDC shared insights on enhancing report quality, and the Shaoxing CDC discussed their advancements in disease control informatization and application.
 
Group discussions facilitated by the Information Center played a crucial role, where provincial representatives provided constructive feedback that significantly contributed to improving system functionalities and innovating work mechanisms. This seminar, featuring interactions with external and provincial experts, underscored the importance of high-quality data entry into the National Disease Prevention and Control Comprehensive Management System and established a scientific basis for policy research towards high-quality development of disease prevention and control centers at all levels across the country.
