Noncommunicable chronic diseases are those that are of long duration and need long-term treatment and care. The four main types of noncommunicable chronic diseases are cardiovascular diseases (such as heart attacks and strokes), cancer, chronic respiratory diseases (such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma), and diabetes.
