The 2024 National Training Workshop on Radiological Disease Diagnosis Techniques and Health Surveillance Held in Yinchuan

The National Training Workshop on Radiological Disease Diagnosis Techniques and Health Surveillance was successfully conducted in Yinchuan city, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from June 3 to 6, 2024. The event was organized by the National Institute for Radiological Protection (NIRP), Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC). Liu Jixiang who is deputy director of Ningxia CDC attended and delivered an address. More than 140 grassroots professional technical staffs in radiological health came from 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps participated in the training workshop. The opening ceremony was presided over by Liu Jianxiang, who is the project leader and director of Department of Radiation Epidemiology at NIRP, China CDC.

 

Training sessions were conducted by a panel of eight experts from the NIRP, China CDC, the Institute of Radiation Medicine at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and the China Guangdong Nuclear power group Radiation Monitoring Center. The comprehensive curriculum covered foundational knowledge of radiological health, health management of radiological workers in China, Generality outline, legal and regulatory foundations and current status, estimation methods of physical doses and biological doses of the diagnosis of occupational radiological diseases, an introduction to the probability of causation(PC) of occupational radiogenic neoplasm, the use of online estimation software, an overview of the diagnosis and network direct reporting system for diagnosing occupational radiological diseases in China.

 

The successful conduct of this workshop has promoted the standardization of the diagnosis of occupational radiological diseases, fostered a unified approach to radiological health diagnosis in China.
