Deputy Director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Shi Xiaoming, Leads a Team to Research the Construction of High-Quality Academic Journals

To further enhance the journal management level sponsored by the Center and advance high-quality academic publishing, on March 14, 2024, Deputy Director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Shi Xiaoming, led a team to the National Institute of Parasitic Disease, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention to research the development and construction of high-quality academic journals.
 
The research session was chaired by Li Shizhu, the director of the institute, with Party Secretary Cao Jianping and Chief Expert Zhou Xiaonong participating. Deputy Director Shi Xiaoming expressed hopes that the visit would contribute to the overall improvement of the Center's academic publishing.
 
Yang Pin, Chief Managing Editor of the Infectious Diseases of Poverty, and Sheng Huifeng, Chief Managing Editor of the Chinese Journal of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases, shared experiences on journal management peculiarities, high-quality development pathways, academic expert team building, academic communication capabilities, and challenges and responses.
 
In his research summary, Deputy Director Shi Xiaoming underscored the significant role of academic journals and proposed that the Center's sponsored journals develop medium-to-long-term plans and adopt phased development strategies to achieve higher-quality progress, supporting public health and preventive medicine disciplines.
 
The research was accompanied by Zhao Chihong, Head of the Office of Academic Publishing, and Deputy Head Zhang Qun, among others.
