National Center for Chronic and Noncommunicable Disease Control and Prevention Convened a Seminar on Innovative Development of National Demonstration Areas for Comprehensive Chronic Disease Prevention and Control

On January 23, 2024, the National Center for Chronic and Noncommunicable Disease Control and Prevention (NCNCD, China CDC) convened a seminar in Beijing on the innovative development of National Demonstration Areas for Comprehensive Prevention and Control of Chronic Diseases. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Director Zhou Maigeng of NCNCD, China CDC, was attended by over ten experts and scholars in the fields of chronic disease prevention and control and informatics from the National Health Commission, disease control systems at all levels nationwide, medical and health institutions, and research institutes. They discussed the informatization construction and high-quality development of the demonstration areas.
 
During the seminar, Deputy Director Zhou Maigeng first outlined the future work direction for the demonstration areas. This was followed by presentations from Deputy Researcher Liu Ying on optimizing and upgrading the dynamic management information system for the demonstration areas, Researcher Jiang Yingying on the maturity assessment standards for the informatization of chronic disease prevention and treatment, and Chief Physician Dong Wenlan and Researcher Dong Jianqun on the development of quality improvement action plans and the revision of management methods for the demonstration areas, respectively. The experts then engaged in discussions about the importance, feasibility, and implementation pathways of the topics discussed.
 
Through in-depth discussions and exchanges, the attending experts reached a preliminary consensus on the topics, providing valuable references and insights for the subsequent innovative development of the demonstration areas.
