National Institute for Radiological Protection Hosted 2024 National Natural Science Foundation Project Application Expert Consultation Meeting

To rigorously advance the application process for the National Natural Science Foundation projects and to improve the quality and number of funded proposals, the National Institute for Radiological Protection has proactively managed the preparation work. It has kept abreast of the progress in writing applications and the one-on-one expert reviews, leading to the convening of the National Natural Science Foundation Project Application Expert Consultation Meeting for 2024 on March 1st, 2024.

 

The meeting invited four seasoned experts from the Rocket Force Characteristic  Medical Center, Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Capital Medical University, and Beijing Normal University, along with members and experts from the Academic Committee of the National Institute for Radiological Protection. They conducted on-site evaluations and guidance for 16 prospective projects. Wang Jichun, the Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, attended the meeting to offer guidance. He shared the progress on the National Natural Science Foundation project applications within the CDC and laid out the requirements for future application efforts.

 

This consultation meeting featured two parallel sessions based on the content of the applications, allowing applicants to present their projects in person. Experts engaged deeply with the presentations and applications, discussing and exchanging views on project summaries, unique features and innovative points, technical plans, and research foundations. They offered highly constructive feedback and suggestions. The applicants found the critiques extremely beneficial, significantly contributing to enhancing the quality of their project applications.
