Officials of National Center for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control of Ministry of Health, Cambodia visit China CDC

In order to learn about China's experience in emergency response to mitigate dengue outbreak, a three-person delegation from Cambodia, led by Chea Huch, deputy director of the country's National Center for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control under the Ministry of Health, visited the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) on Dec 6, 2023.
 
Both sides held a deep technical discussion. Expert from the Public Health Emergency Center of the China CDC introduced the public health emergency management work and their engagement in domestic and international public health emergencies responses. Expert from the Division of Infectious Diseases of the China CDC outlined the department's dengue fever prevention and control work, especially the surveillance and prevention and control system.
 
The Cambodian experts outlined the current dengue fever epidemic situation, prevention and control strategies, action guidelines and specific prevention measures in their country.
 
Chea Huch expressed his hope to learn from China's experience to better cope with the dengue fever outbreaks, which placed a heavy disease burden on Cambodia. During the meeting, the two sides had in-depth exchanges on how to further improve the emergency response plan based on Cambodia's conditions.
 
The delegation also visited the Emergency Operation Center and Museum of Disease Vectors on the China CDC campus.
