National HIV intervention training workshop held in Kunming

On April 26, National Center for AIDS/STD Control and Prevention, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCAIDS, China CDC) held Training workshop of HIV intervention among high-risk populations in Kunming, Yunnan province. A total of over 50 staff from 31 Provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities' CDC, in the field of HIV prevention, attended this workshop. 

 

In the opening ceremony, Xu Jie, deputy director of division of HIV prevention and intervention in NCAIDS, addressed the purpose and significance of this training workshop. Du Ning, deputy director of the HIV/AIDS prevention bureau of Yunnan Provincial Health Commission, shared HIV prevention progress and experiences in Yunnan province. 

 

Multiple topics were covered in this training workshop, such as "HIV prevention & intervention progress and work plan in 2023", "interpretation of high-risk behavior information system", "cost-effectiveness analysis of HIV prevention & intervention programs", "internet-based HIV health education", "reducing HIV infection among female sex workers and elderly clients", "promoting HIV testing among men who have sex with men (MSM) in rural areas, and middle-aged MSM", "combining field epidemiology and molecular epidemiology methods to implement precise intervention among elderly people",  "improving service mode of pre-exposure prophylaxis", etc. Besides, some workshop delegates shared excellent examples to prevent HIV infection.

 

From this workshop, all of the delegates expressed that they gained a lot. Overall, this training workshop provided guidance for HIV prevention work, improved work ability of CDC workers, and provided strong support for HIV prevention work in the new era.
