China CDC holds symposium on prevention and control of bacterial infectious diseases

Hosted by the National Institute for Communicable Disease Control and Prevention of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), a symposium on the prevention and control of bacterial infectious diseases was held in Hangzhou, capital city of East China’s Zhejiang province on Mar 28, 2023.

 

Zainawudong·YUSHAN, deputy director of the China CDC, and Zhenquan JIAO, chief of the early-warning division, Surveillance and Early-warning Department National Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention, P.R. attended the symposium with more than 130 experts and representatives nationwide.

 

Focusing on the prevention and control of bacterial infectious diseases, the participants summarized the current epidemic status and monitoring progress of bacterial infectious diseases, as well as existing problems in prevention and control in recent years, and established priorities of work in 2023.

 

Zainawudong proposed a set of requirements for national bacterial infectious disease prevention and control work in 2023. He said that the development of multi-point trigger monitoring and early warning capabilities should be strengthened and that personnel technical training should be intensified, so as to provide technical support for decision-making in prevention and control.
