China CDC holds webinar on sentinel surveillance of specific health problems

The Office of Public Health Management of the China CDC(National Project Management Office) held a webinar on sentinel surveillance of specific health problems on April 7 and 8, 2022.
 
Duan Lin, deputy director of the Chronic Disease and Nutrition Division of the Bureau of Disease Prevention and Control of the National Health Commission, Yan Jun, deputy Party secretary of the China CDC and Zhao Wenhua, the chief nutrition expert of the China CDC, attended the meeting.
 
Duan explained the project's background, significance and expected results and gave instructions on how to overcome the difficulties and challenges that may be encountered in the work.
 
Yan stressed the importance of sentinel surveillance of specific health problems, and put forward requirements for the arrangements and implementation of the project.
 
Zhao fully affirmed the achievements made by the National Project Management Office in this year's sentinel surveillance work.
 
The staff from the Office of Public Health Management introduced the working methods and contents of the project, such as the quality control arrangements, the laboratory testing method, and the field investigation process.
 
The National Health Commission launched the 2022 sentinel surveillance project for specific health problems to spot them in time and evaluate and optimize the effectiveness of the prevention and control strategies.
 
The office of Public Health Management of the China CDC has undertaken the tasks of the project. In addition, the China CDC has established an expert group with Zhao as the technical adviser, and formed a "Sentinel Surveillance Workbook for Specific Health Problems(2022)".
