Gao meets with Ethiopian ambassador to China

Professor George F. Gao, director-general of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), met with H.E. Teshome Toga Chanaka, Ethiopia’s ambassador to China, via video link on April 11, 2022.
 
Ambassador Teshome expressed Ethiopia's willingness to carry out collaborations in tropical disease control and prevention as well as laboratory and human resource capacity building under the framework of China-Africa health cooperation.
 
Professor Gao pointed out that Ethiopia is one of the China CDC's important partner countries in Africa. Facing COVID-19, it is imperative for both sides to strengthen international cooperation in the field of health.
 
The two sides discussed future cooperation at the meeting.
