China CDC Foreign Expert Recruitment Notice (Full-Time and Part-Time)

China CDC Weekly (Weekly) serves as a platform for China CDC, the national public health bulletin for China, and a platform to promote international collaboration for all issues related to global public health. The Weekly publishes authoritative professional information on national population health, disease and risk factor monitoring, investigation data, and important public health event investigation reports. The Weekly has been recognized and included in several international databases including the US National Library of Medicine’s PubMed Central database, Clarivate’s Emerging Scientific Citations Index, and Elsevier’s Scopus database. The Weekly has led the world in the pandemic response, garnering millions of pageviews and thousands of citations in its brief history.
 
Two positions are available that are both preferentially full-time but can be fulfilled part-time under the right circumstances. Position A is focused on English editing and tasks related to the smooth operation of the a high-level scientific journal. Position B will also contribute to English editing but will be focused on the scientific aspects of the received and published content. More details for each position are provided below.
 
Position A:
Full-time or part-time
 
45-years old or younger
 
Masters degree or equivalent and 2 years of relevant work experience
 
Contract length 1 or 2 years
 
Native English language abilities
 
Responsibilities:
Maintain English language standards and publishing quality for all articles and research that is published by the Weekly;
 
Provide recommendations for the development and improvement of existing content, such as information and guidelines available on the Weekly’s website;
 
Help manage communications between the Weekly’s office and international liaisons at other partnering institutions 
 
Position B:
Full-time or part-time
 
45-years old or younger
 
Doctoral degree or equivalent
 
Contract length 1 or 2 years
 
Native English language abilities
 
Responsibilities:
Maintain scientific standards and clarity of papers received and published by the Weekly
 
Provide advice to authors and other editors to maintain existing academic standards
 
Edit and revise submitted manuscripts, when necessary, to promote discussion with authors and increase the internalization of the Weekly
