National Training Course on the Prevention and Control of Parasitic Diseases Held in Luoyang, Henan Province
To promote progress in the control and elimination of key parasitic diseases nationwide and to strengthen technical capacity for prevention and control, the Department of Health and Immunization Planning of the National Disease Prevention and Control Administration held the 2025 National Training Course on the Prevention and Control of Parasitic Diseases in Luoyang, Henan Province, from 30 to 31 October 2025. More than 150 management and technical staff from disease control and prevention agencies in all 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, as well as from the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, attended the training.
At the opening ceremony, Li Jinle, Director of the Luoyang Municipal Health Commission, and Liu Changjun, Division Director of the Henan Provincial Disease Prevention and Control Administration , delivered remarks. Li Shizhu, Director of the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, noted that the prevention and control of parasitic diseases in China still faces rising imported risks, expanding vectors and the threat of emerging and re-emerging epidemics, and that capacity building needs to be continuously strengthened. He Guanglun, the Division Director of the Department of Health and Immunization Planning of the National Disease Prevention and Control Administration, set out three requirements: strengthening scientific and technological innovation and developing practical and applicable technological products for the grassroots level, deepening international cooperation to share China’s prevention and control experience with the wider world, and strengthen workforce development to improve the four tier disease control network. Heads of departments from the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases gave thematic presentations on progress in key parasitic disease control work and on the findings of the Fourth National Survey on the Status of Key Human Parasitic Diseases. They also provided systematic explanations of key points in diagnostic and testing procedures for parasitic diseases.
The training combined theoretical instruction and practical demonstrations and effectively improved the professional and technical skills of the participants.
