On January 13, 2025, Dr. Amy Carolina Tovar Martinez, Vector-Borne Disease Care Program Representative at the Ministry of Health of Honduras, led a delegation of 15 people, including members of the Shared GX Foundation, to visit the Changping campus of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC). Also accompanying the delegation was H.E. Salvador Moncada, Ambassador of Republic of Honduras to China.

Dr. Li Qun, Deputy Director General of China CDC, met with the delegation and extended a warm welcome to their visit to China. He expressed that China CDC is willing to collaborate with Honduras in the field of public health, including the prevention and control of vector-borne infectious diseases. H.E. Ambassador Salvador Moncada highly praised China CDC’s contributions to global public health and expressed hope that this visit would further promote the exchange of experiences between Honduras' health authorities and China CDC, particularly in areas such as infectious disease control and emergency response capacity building, fostering mutual learning and collaboration. Mr. Liu Zhitang, Senior Advisor of GX Foundation, highlighted that the foundation will serve as a coordinating and bridging force as an NGO, actively facilitating exchanges between China and Honduras in the field of disease control.

Experts from China CDC introduced the center's organizational structure and main functions, China’s infectious infectious disease prevention and control system, public health emergency response system, and vector-borne disease prevention and control technologies. The Honduran delegation also shared an overview of their country’s public health initiatives and experiences in vector-borne disease prevention. During the visit, the delegation toured the Chinese National Influenza Center, the Museum of Disease Vectors and the Mobile Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory. On the following day, the delegation visited the Chaoyang District CDC and the Nanmofang Community Health Service Center in Beijing for further exchanges and visits.
