U.S. – China CDC Directors hold Introductory Call

The Introductory Call between Prof. Shen Hongbing, Director General of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and Dr. Rochelle Walensky, Director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC) was held on Dec 15, 2022 Beijing time.
 
Prof. Shen stressed that the two CDCs should continue to strengthen cooperation in the fields of COVID-19, influenza, global health, tuberculosis and CFETP, and explore potential cooperation in such areas as One Health, Information Dissemination, climate change, immunization and tobacco control, etc.
 
Dr. Walensky congratulated Prof. Shen on his appointment as Director General of China CDC, and said that U.S. CDC is willing to work together with China CDC to carry out more practical cooperation. 
 
The two sides exchanged views on issues of concern and priorities for the next stage of cooperation and reached consensus.
