China CDC holds training course on HIV/AIDS surveillance

About 130 representatives from across the country participated in the online 2022 training course on HIV/AIDS surveillance from Aug 1 to 3. The event was organized by the National Center for AIDS/STD Control and Prevention of the China CDC.
 
Lyu Fan, deputy director of the National Center for AIDS/STD Control and Prevention, gave a lecture on the theme of HIV/AIDS prevention and control strategies in the new era. He encouraged all participants to focus on the characteristics of AIDS epidemics in different periods and to develop new monitoring methods, such as how to use multiple sources of data to carry out AIDS monitoring.
 
Tang Houlin, deputy director of the division of epidemiology, gave a lecture on the key work of AIDS monitoring and surveillance. Other relevant staff members introduced the key points in the case report, sentinel monitoring and epidemic estimations. 
 
In regards to the analysis and utilization of monitoring and surveillance data, the AIDS epidemic analysis report framework and the sentinel monitoring data analysis framework were introduced, which enhanced participants' abilities in analyzing and judging epidemic situations.
 
Experts from leading hospitals in Beijing also gave lectures on the "prevention to elimination of mother-infant blockade in the new era" and the "HIV/AIDS suicide risk and psychological intervention".
 
Experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Shandong, Henan and Yunnan provinces shared their experiences and practices of HIV/AIDS surveillance during the training session.
