China CDC holds graduation ceremony for class of 2022

On July 13, 2022, the graduation and degree-awarding ceremony for class of 2022 was held in Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC).
 
The ceremony was presided over by Liu Jianjun, deputy director of China CDC, vice chairman of Academic Degree Assessment Committee and executive president of Graduate School of China CDC. The ceremony brought together over 100 participants, including graduate students of the class of 2022, vice presidents of Graduate School, leaders of the directly affiliated institutions, officials of relevant departments of China CDC, as well as representatives of supervisors.
   
Professor George F. Gao, director of China CDC, chairman of Academic Degree Assessment Committee and president of Graduate School, delivered a keynote speech at the ceremony. He encouraged the graduates to elevate themselves and help others where possible, as well as explore on issues of globalization, scientific and technological innovation, and the pursuit of truth. He hoped that the students would always maintain a scientific and rational attitude, be full of innovative spirit, and become promoters and pioneers in the cause of public health.

When announcing the awarding of doctoral and master's degrees to graduates of 2022, Liu Jianjun quoted from Lao Tzu's Tao Te Chingto encourage the graduates to be noble and wise. "In the Way, all sharpness is blunted, all tangles untied, all glare tempered, all dust smoothed," he recited.

Lu Jiang, Party secretary of the China CDC, Yan Jun, deputy Party secretary of the China CDC, and Zainawudong·Yushan, deputy director of the China CDC awarded for outstanding graduates.
Zhang Huidi, a representative of the graduates, and researcher Zhu Na, a representative of the supervisors at the Graduate School of China CDC, gave their speeches respectively during the ceremony.

At the end of the ceremony, Professor Gao awarded degree scrolls to graduates who have obtained doctoral and master's degrees.
