China CDC and Mongolia’s National Center for Communicable Diseases Renew Memorandum of Understanding

From September 3 to 4, 2026, Mei Yang, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), led a delegation to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and held talks with senior officials and experts from the Ministry of Health, the National Center for Communicable Diseases, the National Center for Public Health, the National Center for Zoonotic Diseases, and the WHO Country Office in Mongolia. On September 4, Mei Yang, on behalf of China CDC, and Dr. Sereenen Enkhbold, Director of the National Center for Communicable Diseases of Mongolia, renewed the Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) between China CDC and the National Center for Communicable Diseases of Mongolia.

China CDC and the National Center for Communicable Diseases of Mongolia signed the MOU in December 2021. Under its framework, the two sides have carried out fruitful exchanges and cooperation in areas including prevention and control of emerging infectious diseases, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS prevention and control, public health workforce development, surveillance information technology, and health emergency response. The renewal of the MOU marks the beginning of a new five-year cycle of bilateral cooperation.

Sun Yang, Deputy Director-General of the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration, attended the signing ceremony as a witness. He expressed the hope that the two sides will further strengthen cooperation and exchanges in infectious disease prevention and control, field epidemiology training, public health emergency response, and laboratory system development, and make positive contributions to the building of a global community of health for all.
