CSIS Delegation Visits China CDC

On the morning of August 20, 2026, Dr. Stephen Morrison, Senior Vice President and Director of the Global Health Policy Center at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), led a four-member delegation to visit China CDC (Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine). Wang Jianwei, Director and President of China CDC (Academy), chaired the meeting. Relevant department heads and experts participated in the exchange.

Director Wang extended a warm welcome to the CSIS delegation. He noted that China and the United States have a long history of public health cooperation, with a solid foundation in infectious disease prevention and control, chronic disease prevention and control, field epidemiology training, health emergency response, and global health. He expressed willingness to explore further avenues for cooperation with the United States in areas of mutual interest and contribute to global public health security.

Dr. Morrison stated that China and the United States have broad prospects for cooperation in public health. CSIS is actively promoting China-U.S. public health cooperation and looks forward to further deepening technical cooperation and dialogue between the CDCs of the two countries to jointly advance global public health.

The two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on infectious disease prevention and control, healthy aging, and global health governance reform.
