China CDC Signs MoU with Cuba’s Pedro Kourí Tropical Medicine Institute
Recently, China CDC (Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine) formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pedro Kourí Tropical Medicine Institute(IPK) of Cuba. IPK is a national-level public health institution of Cuba, and both institutions are members of the International Association of National Public Health Institutes(IANPHI).
Under the MoU, the two sides will focus on deepening cooperation in such priority areas as prevention and control of tropical diseases, laboratory diagnostic technologies, public health emergency response, and personnel training. The signing represents an important step in carrying forward the traditional friendship between China and Cuba and promoting South-South health cooperation. It will vigorously advance substantive technical cooperation between the two sides in the field of public health and contribute to building a closer China-Cuba health partnership.
