Temasek Foundation, Singapore, Visits the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine)
July 24, 2026—Wang Jianwei, Director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, received a delegation from Singapore’s Temasek Foundation led by Ng Boon Heong, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, at the China CDC’s South Campus.
Wang Jianwei extended a warm welcome to the visitors and highlighted the progress achieved in recent years between China CDC and Singapore’s infectious disease agencies and universities through joint projects and technical exchanges. He called on both sides to build on this foundation and accelerate the design and implementation of concrete cooperation initiatives, with a focus on public health workforce development and infectious disease prevention and control.
During the meeting, representatives from both organizations presented proposals for potential collaboration in mosquito-borne disease control, antimicrobial resistance response, and global epidemic surveillance. Participants then discussed refining project designs, clarifying implementation pathways, and establishing regular communication and coordination mechanisms. Both sides exchanged views on next steps and work plans.
The meeting was also attended by officials from the Yangtze River Delta National Innovation Center for Technology, as well as representatives from the Office of General Administration, Office of International Cooperation, Division of Infectious Diseases, Center for Global Public Health, National Institute for Communicable Disease Control and Prevention, and National Institute of Environmental Health.
