Zhang Lijie Elected to TEPHINET Steering Committee to Advance Global Public Health Cooperation
Recently, the Training Programs in Epidemiology and Public Health Interventions Network (TEPHINET) announced the roster for its new Steering Committee. Following a comprehensive review and rigorous selection process by an international expert panel, Researcher Zhang Lijie, Deputy Director of the Epidemiology Office at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and Deputy Director of the Chinese Field Epidemiology Training Program (CFETP), has been elected a full voting member of the Committee for a three-year term (2026–2029).
Restructured from the former Advisory Committee, the Steering Committee now holds enhanced executive functions, providing TEPHINET with comprehensive support in strategic guidance, technical expertise, coordinated leadership, oversight, and executive decision-making. The Committee comprises 11 members.
This election reflects international recognition of China’s field epidemiology training system and marks a deeper engagement of the CFETP in global public health governance. Moving forward, she will collaborate with counterparts worldwide to share China’s experience, contribute Chinese wisdom, and jointly advance the high-quality development of global field epidemiology.
