Rehabilitation University Holds Exchange Meeting with China CDC (Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine)

On the afternoon of December 30, 2025, a delegation from Rehabilitation University led by President Dong Erdan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, visited the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, which is also known as Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine, hereafter referred to as the Center . The meeting was chaired by Wang Jianwei, Director General and President of the Center and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee. Zhang Guoxin, Party Secretary of the Center, and Shi Xiaoming, Deputy Director General and Vice President, attended the meeting.

Wang Jianwei welcomed the delegation. Both sides introduced the basic information and key strengths of Rehabilitation University and the Center. Wang highlighted the Center’s work in modernizing the disease control and prevention system, providing professional technical support, advancing scientific and technological innovation, and carrying out education and teaching. Dong Erdan said that Rehabilitation University, as a new research oriented university, is committed to promoting the integration of rehabilitation medicine and public health. He expressed the university’s interest in learning from the Center’s experience in discipline development and student training, scientific and technological innovation, and building its talent workforce.

The two sides held in depth discussions on national public health security, chronic disease prevention and control and rehabilitation, the integration of medical services and disease prevention, research collaboration and platform sharing, and mutual exchanges of faculty and students. They agreed that practical cooperation can be pursued in chronic disease management, the translation of rehabilitation technologies, joint research to address key challenges, and coordinated talent development. The two sides will work together to support the Healthy China initiative and reached a preliminary strategic cooperation intention.
