Good News | Chinese Journal of Virology Officially Indexed in Scopus
On January 8, 2026, the Scopus review team under Elsevier sent an official letter to the Editorial Office of Chinese Journal of Virology. Following evaluation by the Scopus Content Selection and Advisory Board (CSAB), the journal was approved for indexing in the Scopus database.
Scopus is the world’s largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. It covers more than 29,000 academic journals from over 7,000 publishers. Its selection standards include more than 40 quantitative indicators, covering publishing practices, peer review, level of internationalization, and citation performance.
The journal’s inclusion in Scopus is another breakthrough, following its selection for the 2023 edition of A Guide to the Core Journals of China (Peking University Core Journals). It shows that the journal’s academic quality and standardized editorial work have been recognized by an internationally authoritative database. This will bring the journal’s articles to the attention of researchers worldwide and further enhance the international visibility and academic voice of virology research in China.
Building on this achievement, Chinese Journal of Virology will continue to enforce a strict peer-review system, accelerate bilingual publishing in Chinese and English, and strengthen digital dissemination. The journal will work to become a virology journal with global influence and contribute more to the prevention and control of viral diseases and to biomedical innovation in China and worldwide.
