At the July 31 session, Wang Meng, Researcher at the Division of Environmental and School Health, Department of Immunization and Hygiene, presided over the opening ceremony. Zhang Bingxin, Deputy Director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Administration of Disease Control and Prevention, delivered the welcome remarks. Fei Jia, Director of the Division of Environmental and School Health, summarized the progress made in school health in recent years, and emphasized that disease control institutions at all levels should regard school health as a key component of public health system development, and work to promote the standardized development of school health systems within the CDC structure.
Shi Xiaoming, Deputy Director of China CDC, highlighted in his remarks that this training marked the first national-level school health training organized by China CDC since assuming responsibility for technical coordination and project management. He called on disease control agencies at all levels to ensure full implementation of the 2025 national surveillance program for common student diseases, clarify operational protocols, strengthen project quality control, and advance digitalization efforts across the board.
At the August 1 session, Guo Xin, Director of the School Health Preparatory Office, delivered a keynote to launch the training. She noted that the most pressing task is to enhance the professional capacity and interdisciplinary skills of school health personnel, cultivate new productive forces in school health, and fully leverage the CDC system’s role in safeguarding the healthy growth of children and adolescents.
The training program invited leading domestic experts from a range of fields related to school health to serve as instructors. The final portion of the program included group-based sessions and evaluation of training effectiveness, laying a strong foundation for future localized training initiatives across the country.
