China CDC Chronic Disease Center and China Weather Launch Series of Activities for National Healthy Lifestyle Month
To actively implement the Healthy China 2030 strategy and advance the Year of Weight Management action plan, the National Center for Chronic and Noncommunicable Disease Control and Prevention of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) is partnering with China Weather in September 2025 to roll out a series of public education activities during National Healthy Lifestyle Month. The campaign focuses on promoting and maintaining healthy body weight and healthy bones.
With themes such as weight management, scientific exercise, bone health and balanced diet, the campaign uses television weather forecast programmes and China Weather new media platforms as its main channels, creating repeated interaction between large and small screens. For the first time, the partners will jointly release a National Obesity Prevalence Map, a National Exercise Rate Distribution Map, a One Week Exercise and Weather Calendar and a September Exercise Suitability Map. A symposium on Promoting Healthy Lifestyles for All and Scientific Weight Management will also be held, bringing together experts and scholars from public health, meteorology and clinical medicine for in depth discussion and providing high level intellectual support for building a health focused meteorological service system.
Through an innovative model of cross departmental, cross disciplinary and cross sector collaboration, the campaign aims to encourage the public to learn health knowledge, improve health literacy and strengthen personal health management. It promotes the idea that everyone is the first person responsible for their own health, helps lay a solid foundation for the health of the whole society and contributes to the achievement of the goals of Healthy China.
