Recently, the ChinaPublic Health Team to Myanmar has actively strengthened communication and collaboration with the Mandalay Regional Government and Department of Health to advance post-disaster public health efforts in an orderly manner, focusing on restoration and enhancement of professional capabilities in public health emergency response.

On the afternoon of April 29, five experts from the China Public Health Team to Myanmar, conducted a specialized technical training session in English at their residence for 30 Myanmar healthcare professionals. The training covered five key areas: post-disaster public health risk assessment in resettlement sites, outbreak investigation and response for infectious diseases, emergency surveillance of communicable diseases, preventive disinfection after earthquakes, and vector surveillance and control.

A representative of the Myanmar trainees stated, “We are very grateful for the opportunity to attend this technical training. It enabled us to acquire knowledge beyond our routine work and better understand the appropriate actions health departments should take in the face of major natural disasters such as the Mandalay earthquake, as well as relevant international practices and experiences. This has been highly beneficial for improving our post-disaster public health efforts.”

All China CDC experts on the team contributed to the preparation of the training materials. Wang Xiaoye, Ren Jinghuan, and Duan Hongyang delivered the lectures.
