China CDC and U.S. CDC Hold 31st Technical Exchange Teleconference

On the evening of August 15, 2024, Beijing time, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC) held the 31st technical exchange teleconference. This session focused on the field of health emergency management. Nearly 20 experts from both sides participated in the meeting.
 
During the teleconference, U.S. CDC experts provided an overview of the public health emergency management system in the United States. They shared the role of the U.S. CDC within this system and outlined the organizational structure and key elements of the National Incident Management System. Additionally, they shared insights from the U.S. CDC’s Public Health Emergency Management Fellowship Program, which graduated 251 international public health officials from 47 countries since 2013. China CDC experts introduced the Public Health Emergency Management Information System. They also detailed the content and arrangements of the emergency management training programs and highlighted key activities.
 
In the discussion part, both sides engaged in a thorough exchange on topics including the operational processes of emergency management systems, monitoring and early warning mechanisms, as well as the structure and unique aspects of their respective emergency management training programs.
