Successful Hosting of China CDC Weekly Academic Exchange Conference in Ningbo

On June 21, 2024, China CDC Weekly Academic Exchange Conference was successfully held at the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China, jointly organized by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and the University of Nottingham Ningbo. Zhao Chihong, Director of the Academic Publishing Management Department at the China CDC and Professor Chen Zhuo, Head of Health Economics at the University of Nottingham Ningbo delivered keynote addresses. More than 20 experts in the field of public health from disease control institutions and universities, and over 70 faculty and students from the University of Nottingham Ningbo attended the symposium.
 
Director Zhao Chihong introduced the background, mission, significance, development, and prospects of China CDC Weekly. Zhao emphasized the symbiotic relationship between high-quality journals and distinguished authors, encouraging stronger collaboration and exchange between disease control institutions and universities. Zhao envisioned the journal as a platform to facilitate scientific research and innovation in public health. The symposium, themed applications of health economics and data analysis in public health, featured presentations and discussions by experts including Jiang Jianmin, Deputy Director of the Zhejiang Provincial CDC; Wu Xifeng, Dean of Zhejiang University; Zhuang Guihua, Dean of Xi’an Jiaotong University; Sun Qiang, Dean of Shandong University; and Professor Fang Hai from Peking University.
 
This event, as the second installment in the China CDC Weekly 2024 Academic Exchange Conference series, successfully facilitated the exchange of research advancements in relevant fields and fostered stronger collaborations between disease control institutions and universities, which was deemed a resounding success.
