6th China-Russia Symposium on Infectious Diseases held in Russia

On Nov 7, 2023, the 6th China-Russia Symposium on Infectious Diseases, jointly organized by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and the Smorodintsev Research Institute of Influenza of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, was held in St. Petersburg, Russia.
 
During the two-day conference, experts and specialists discussed various hot topics in the field of infectious diseases. These topics included influenza monitoring, influenza vaccine development, severe cases of seasonal influenza, avian influenza, the design and development of AIDS vaccines, COVID-19 infections among AIDS patients, the application of disruptive mutations in the treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis, the use of molecular markers in the treatment of tuberculosis and related diseases, as well as the genetic characteristics of drug-resistant bacteria.
 
Since 2018, the China-Russia Symposium on Infectious Diseases has been held for six consecutive years, which has become an important platform for public health experts from China and Russia to exchange knowledge and experience and has successfully established itself as a flagship project in the field of China-Russia public health cooperation.
