Officials of Netherlands Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport visit China CDC

Tim Douma, Head of the Strategy and Organization Division of Public Health Department, Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Nico Schiettekatte, Counsellor for Health, Welfare and Sport at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China, visited Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) on Aug 10. 

 

The guests discussed infectious disease prevention and control policies and health promotion with experts from China CDC.

 

Officials from the Office of International Cooperation, China CDC introduced China's public health system, the center's functions and organizational structure.

 

Experts from the Division of Infectious Disease Management, Office of Chronic Disease and Ageing Health Management, Center for Tuberculosis Control and Prevention, Public Health Emergency Center, and National Institute of Environmental Health of China CDC introduced their efforts to comprehensive infectious disease surveillance, nationwide health lifestyle promotion initiative, salt reduction program, community action on tuberculosis elimination, tuberculosis prevention and control, as well as heat wave risk warning and formulation of heat stroke prevention strategies etc. Then, the two sides held discussions on these topics.

 

The two sides also exchanged views on the renewal of the memorandum of understanding between the China CDC and National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, the Nehterlands.

 

The guests also visited the construction project model of the China CDC Changping Campus, and learned about the progress of the Phase II project.
