The National Institute for Occupational Health and Poison Control (NIOHP) under the Chinese Center for Disease Prevention and Control (China CDC) and Hubei Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention jointly held an exchange conference on chemical toxicity assessment and convened a training session on relevant experimental methods in Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province, from June 26 to 27.

The two-day event aimed to help trainees learn more about the application of computational toxicology, frontier experimental methods concerning carcinogenicity and reproductive toxicity, risk evaluation of chemical products, qualities for toxicological professionals, text compilation of good laboratory practice (GLP), and writing of chemical products' safety technology specifications.

The participants were also briefed about and held discussions on the revisions to the existing evaluation procedures for chemical products' toxicity assessment and the evaluation results for the year 2022.

The gathering drew the attendance of over 100 representatives from 21 chemical toxicity assessment institutions and nine other competent agencies.

The session provided technical personnel from relevant chemical toxicity assessment agencies with professional guidance and facilitated mutual learning as well as exchanges among participating organizations.
