Head of CMA Public Meteorological Service Center visits China CDC

On July 4, a team led by Zhu Xiaoxiang, head of the Public Meteorological Service Center under the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), visited and held talks with officials of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) over health and meteorological service in Beijing.
 
Yan Jun, deputy director of the China CDC, presided over the meeting. She welcomed Zhu and his team to the China CDC.
 
Zhu talked about the objectives of the visit, saying that the CMA Public Meteorological Service Center looks forward to engaging in closer cooperation and exchanges with the China CDC.
 
At the meeting, Liu Yanxiang, chief expert from the CMA Public Meteorological Service Center, introduced the general background of the center and its work in meteorological and health sectors. Wang Songwang, a researcher of the China CDC, talked about the China CDC's work and its applications of meteorological data.
 
Representatives from the two sides also conducted in-depth discussions over the utilization of meteorological data in the supervision of contagious diseases, the research & development of health-related meteorological products, and cross-disciplinary research as well as cooperation in health and meteorological fields.
 
The event was expected to promote the integrated development of health and meteorological industries, further bolster China's strength in health protection and meteorological management, and enhance the country's public service and government service.
