5th China-Russia Symposium on Infectious Diseases held online

The 5th China-Russia Symposium on Infectious Diseases was held via video link from Nov 10 to 11, 2022.
Prof. Shen Hongbing, director general of the Chinese Center for Disease Prevention and Control (China CDC), said that China and Russia have established a profound friendship and are also facing many public health problems of common concern. Shen believed that strengthening cooperation in the field of infectious diseases prevention and control can help improve the well-being of the two peoples and ensure their social development.

Dr. Alexandra Usacheva, director of the department of International Cooperation and Public Relations at the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, praised the cooperation between China and Russia in public health, and said that more cooperation is in line with the two countries’ aspiration to seek happiness for their people and pursue their national rejuvenation.
Dr. Dmitry Lioznov, director of the Smorodintsev Research Institute of Influenza in Russia, acknowledged the important role of the China-Russia Symposium on Infectious Diseases and said he looked forward to the 6th symposium to be held in Russia next year.

Officials and experts in the field of infectious diseases from China and Russia attended the symposium and delivered keynote speeches on COVID-19, influenza, tuberculosis and AIDS.
