Lyu Fan

Lyu Fan is a researcher and Ph.D. supervisor at the National Center for STD/AIDS Control and Prevention, China Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Dr. Lyu is the recipient of the State Council Special Allowance (2020).
Dr. Lyu serves as the Chairman of the Epidemiology and Monitoring and Evaluation Committee Chinese Association for STD/AIDS Control and Prevention.
In past years, Dr. Lyu has been mainly engaged in the prevention and control of diseases such as AIDS, viral hepatitis, and monkeypox, carrying out a series of research projects on major infectious disease epidemiology, prevention and control policy and strategies, monkeypox and HIV co-infection, and HIV and viral hepatitis co-infection. He has conducted pilot study and explored the pathway for integrated control and prevention of AIDS, hepatitis, STD and monkeypox.
Dr. Lyu participated in COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, including on-site prevention and control in several provinces as a member of epidemiological investigation. As a technical consultant, he supported the COVID-19 prevention and control in Italy and performed outstandingly in the epidemic investigation and community prevention and control. In view of Dr. Lyu's outstanding performance in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, he was commended by the leaders of the National Health Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and National Disease Control and Prevention Administration.
His research results provided scientific evidence for national policy and strategy on HIV prevention, and have won more than 10 science and technology awards, including the second prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, the second prize of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Society Science and Technology Award, and the second prize of the Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award. As the first or corresponding author, he has published more than 270 articles in Chinese or English, and edited/co-edited 10 books. Additionally, he has mentored 39 doctoral and master’s students.
