On April 2, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) held the 2025 Training Workshop on News and Public Communication at the multifunctional hall of its North Campus. The workshop was held to earnestly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important statements on publicity, ideological, and cultural work. It aligned closely with the Center's 2025 initiative designated as the “Year of Capacity Building,” and focused on the missions and responsibilities of health communication in the new era. The training aimed to strengthen the political integrity, professional competence, and innovative thinking of the publicity team, with the goal of cultivating a capable force to effectively tell the China CDC story and amplify authoritative voices in disease control.

The training curriculum was designed based on practical needs and covered topics such as public opinion and crisis response in the field of disease control, information release review, and expert interview management. Through comprehensive case-based analysis, the sessions promoted in-depth integration of theory and practice. The workshop also conveyed the relevant requirements from the Standing Committee of the Center's Party Committee regarding publicity work. A governance mechanism of “strict oversight, strict prevention, and strict accountability” was introduced. The General Office emphasized the importance, urgency, and critical nature of strengthening the accountability system for ideological work and safeguarding ideological security. Specific guidance and key reminders were provided on enhancing the management of the Center's online platforms and improving the Center's overall publicity capabilities.

A senior data analysis expert from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was invited to deliver a special lecture. More than 50 participants from the Center's headquarters departments and affiliated institutions attended the training.
