IAEA Expert Miroslav Pinak Visits the Institute of Radiation Safety, China CDC
On 23 October 2025, Mr Miroslav Pinak, Head of the Radiation Safety and Monitoring Division of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), visited the Institute of Radiation Safety of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention for a working exchange. Director Liu Qingjie, Deputy Director Yin Zhaoxue, heads of relevant operational and administrative departments, as well as more than twenty researchers and graduate students, took part in the meeting. The session was chaired by Director Liu Qingjie.
Mr Pinak gave a structured overview of the organizational set up and main responsibilities of the IAEA Radiation Safety and Monitoring Division. He then exchanged views with participants on several areas of work, including public exposure, existing exposure situations and medical exposure. Both sides also held in-depth discussions on strengthening capacity building and expanding international cooperation.
The visit further deepened exchanges between the Institute of Radiation Safety and the IAEA in the field of radiation protection. The institute will continue to strengthen international collaboration, enhance its role in the area of radiation and health and share China’s experience more widely with the international community.
