2025 Training Course on Standard Coding for the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System Successfully Held
To ensure continuity across all functions of the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System and the accuracy of statistical data analysis, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention held the 2025 Training Course on Standard Coding for the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, from 20 to 22 October 2025. More than fifty participants attended the course, including standard coding administrators from disease control centers in all 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, together with technical staff from China CDC’s directly affiliated institutions and headquarters departments.
At the opening session, Zhang Xiaoshu, Deputy Director of the Gansu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, delivered a welcome speech and presented the progress and main achievements in the development of disease control informatization in Gansu. Guo Qing, Researcher at the Information Center of China CDC, outlined this year’s key tasks, with particular emphasis on maintenance work related to third party pathogenic microorganism laboratories. Experts from the Information Center, the Immunization Center, the Emergency Response Center and the Tuberculosis Control Center respectively explained the standard coding maintenance plan, the coding maintenance plan for vaccination facilities, reporting requirements for the surveillance of emerging and acute infectious diseases and the coding maintenance plan for tuberculosis control institutions, and answered questions from participants on site. Through this training, participants from all provinces gained a better understanding of the importance of standard coding maintenance and the priority tasks for this year. The course is an important step in coordinating the surveillance of human infections with highly pathogenic agents and helps lay a sound basis for the stable operation of the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System in 2026.
