2025 China CDC-WHO Collaborating Centre Workshop Held in Beijing
On the morning of June 26, 2025, the Office of International Cooperation of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) convened the 2025 China CDC- WHO Collaborating Centres (WHOCCs) Workshop. Approximately 15 participants attended the meeting, including current heads of WHOCCs and representatives from relevant departments.
During the seminar, Dr Ma Lin, Associate Researcher at the WHO Collaborating Center Coordination Office in China (Institute of Medical Information, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences), presented an update on the development of WHOCCs in China. She underscored the importance of closely following WHO policy documents and keeping in touch with technical officers under current circumstances.
WHOCC heads and experts from China CDC shared their experiences in building WHOCCs and highlighted key achievements over the past year. These included strengthening the WHOCC network, organizing cross-sector joint activities, effectively integrating resources, and fostering new initiatives based on mutual benefits to advance China’s disease prevention and control efforts.
Following these presentations, participants held in-depth discussions on how to address challenges related to human resources and funding, and how to further enhance the role of WHOCCs as technical centers of excellence.
