Infectious Diseases of Poverty Ranked as a Top Journal in the Discipline of Medicine in the 2025 Journal Classification Table
The 2025 Journal Classification Table was officially released recently. Infectious Diseases of Poverty, affiliated with National Institute of Parasitic Diseases at China CDC (Chinese Center for Tropical Diseases Research), has been ranked in Top 5% (Quartile 1) under the broad category of Medicine Discipline (Top Journal), and in three subcategories—Disciplines of Infectious Diseases, Parasitology, and Tropical Medicine—making it a top-tier journal in the medical field.
Meanwhile, Infectious Diseases of Poverty continues to receive funding support under the Phase II of the China STM Journals Excellence Action Plan – Second Level of English-Language Journal Program. It was also recognized as both an Outstanding Journal in Academic Quality and an Outstanding Journal in Overall Quality in the 2024 annual review of journals sponsored by the Chinese Medical Association.
Note: The Journal Classification Table is a scientific output developed by the National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences. First introduced in 2004, the table has been continuously updated. An upgraded version was launched in 2019, with a transition from the basic to the upgraded edition, and since 2022, only the upgraded version has been published. The 2025 edition includes journals indexed in SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI, ESCI, and OAJ, covering 21 broad disciplines across the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. The table features discipline-based quartile rankings for journals in the above indexes, provides classification data for both broad and narrow subject categories, and offers data retrieval and browsing functions.
