Zhou Xiaonong attends 4th Forum on China-Africa Local Government Cooperation
The 4th Forum on China-Africa Local Government Cooperation was held in Beijing on Nov 16, 2021. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang attended via video link and delivered a speech.
At the invitation of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the organizer of the forum, Zhou Xiaonong, head of the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases, China CDC (Chinese Center for Tropical Diseases Research) , attended the forum and gave a speech.

Zhou talked about the China Africa cooperation activities such as disease control and prevention, scientific research, talent training and academic communication and network cooperation participated or organized by NIPD since 2000.
He said he hopes that China can share more experiences and carry out more cooperation with African countries in the fields of malaria and schistosomiasis, and contribute to the construction of a Global Community of Health.
The Forum on China-Africa Local Government Cooperation was initiated by the CPAFFC in 2012. In 2015, it was included in the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and it has been held successfully three times.
The forum was themed on "Building a China-Africa Community with a Shared Future - Local Governments of China and Africa Work Together for Common Development" and involved five discussion topics including sister city partnership construction, poverty alleviation, healthcare, innovation development and urban governance.
More than 300 leaders from African countries, officials from local governments of China and Africa and representatives of relevant institutions took part in the forum both online and offline.
